Im very much looking forward to the release of Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and with a day to go until the release (at time of writing this) Ill certainly be spending much of this weekend going through the fixes, improvements.

Ive made no secret of the fact that my prefered distro is Ubuntu.  The reason for this is twofold, firstly because it is accessable for the new user and offers the features that make Linux the platform of choice over Windows for the more experienced users.

Of course there are other distro’s available, but my second reason for keeping Ubuntu as my main distro, is that its the one I recommend the most when installing Linux for the first time on someones machine.  I try to keep on top of all Ubuntu features (and most of my reading has been in relation to Ubuntu) so its the one I feel most “at home” with.  I currently have Hardy Heron installed (8.04) of which I have had no problems with, that could not be sorted out within a few minutes.

That being said, I will recommend NimbleX 2008 to the user who has a machine short on specs,  and I expect to be using that particular distro alot more.
